Indeed, you need to know what it is called in “Finale-speak”.

In this particular case, search in the manual for “grace notes”, and for “cross-staff notes”.

A special problem is that you need to tie from a grace note to a standard note which is not the immediately following note.

(The immediately following note is another grace note)

Asa workaround you could use a slur instead of a tie.

To delete a measure:

Selection Tool.

Double-click the measure.

Hit the delete key.
