I'm using Finale 25.3.0.276, Mac, with Garritan Personal Orchestra 4.  

Background:

I first had to update my Mac OS to Sierra (OS 10.12.4). Next I installed Finale 25 (from the USB dongle it was sent in). Next I re-uploaded Garritan Personal Orchestra 4.

Problem:

Garritan patches appear in ScoreManger but simply do not sound when I click playback.  I use "Play Finale Thru Audio Units" (not "Play Finale thru MIDI").

If I choose Play through MIDI, it comes out with the dreadful Softsynth patches, not Garritan.

I don't have much experience on Macs, but you might want to try making sure ARIA Player and Engine are updated to the latest versions.  Various OS updates that can break the player or older installers get addressed by reinstalling just the latest Player and Engine.

 

1.  Log into your MakeMusic Account and seek out the latest ARIA Player updates:  https://www.garritan.com/support/

 

2.  Open ARIA in stand alone mode, and in the "Info" tab click the update button (the internal Plogue ARIA Engine is kind of separate from the Player UI, and gets updated pretty frequently).  If it turns out you can't even get ARIA Player to launch, or that Mac's don't have such an 'update' button, you can find ARIA Engine updates here:  http://ariaengine.com/support/
