Hi,

Today I upgraded to the current version of Finale from Finale 2011. The installation of Finale was successful, but I am not able to complete installation of Garritan sounds. When the Finale installer gets to that portion of the installation, it opens up a new installer window specifically for Garritan. I follow the installation prompts, but when it gets to the part of actually installing the sounds, it gets locked up somewhere in the list of files. I've tried it a few times and it gets stuck at a different file each time. Clicking cancel does nothing, and the only way I can exit the installation is to force quit. It then tells me the installation was successful, but in Finale, the only way to have any sound on playback is to select SmartSynth, so I don't think the Garritan installation happened. Any ideas as to how I might go about troubleshooting this?

Running Mac El Capitan 10.11.1
2.53 GHz Intel Core Duo
Plenty of HD space
8 GB RAM

Thanks for posting!

 

When the Sample Manager portion of the Garritan Instruments for Finale is hanging, it can be a bit tricky to get working again. However, we do have some workarounds that might help! I would recommend using the Submit a request link at the top of this page to contact our Customer Success team directly. Describe your issue for them and they should be able to provide some more options to get things up and running.
