Using Finale 2014.5 on Mac 10.11.6.

I have a Staff Style in which both Repeat Bars and Endings and Text Repeats are un-checked, but only the repeat brackets get hidden—not the endings.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

To hide the endings, do not use the Staff Tool.

Instead, go to the Repeat Tool, and define/choose a custom staff list for the display of endings.

You can e. g. choose to display the endings in the parts only, not in the score.

Creating the staff list is not enough.

You have to assign this custom staff list to each ending.

Thank you!

Incidentally, if un-checking Endings and Text Repeats doesn't hide repeat endings, which endings do they mean?

Simon Dawkins,

You wrote:

Actually, unchecking ‘Endings and Text Repeats’ does hide repeat endings.

In Other Words:

Unchecking ‘Endings and Text Repeats’ “normally” overrides the Repeat Tool.

By the word ‘normally’ I mean the Edit Ending setting ‘Show On: All Staves’.

The setting ‘Show On: All Staves’ is at the bottom of the “Show On hierarchy”.

On The Other Hand, at the top of the “Show On hierarchy” is the Edit Ending setting ‘Show On: Top Staff Only’ - and also staff lists.

This is what many Finale users have requested, and it is similar to the display of measure numbers:

In the dialog box Measure Number you can choose that a Measure Number Region should always show on the Top Staff everywhere, no matter which staff is the top staff anywhere.

So it would have hidden the endings if 'Show On: Top Staff Only' had not been checked? This is my default setting.
So in what way does unchecking 'Endings and Text Repeats' hide repeat endings, if it doesn't?

It would have hidden the endings if ‘Show On: All Staves’ had been checked.

‘Show On: All Staves’ is at the bottom of the hierarchy.

‘Top Staff’ overrides the Staff Tool, and so does a Staff List, too.

‘Top Staff’ and ‘Staff List’ are at the top of the hierarchy.

If I misunderstand, then I apologize.
