Doing a drum set fill, using three layers (Layer One, Two & Three). It is very simple with snare, bass and ride cymbal, for a couple of short fills.

I have, for an example, a cymbal hit flag eighth note on beat four, in Layer 3 and a snare drum hit on the + of four in Layer 1 on snare, also with a flag eighth note. I have tried my normal, beaming method, in Speedy Entry, with using the back-slash key; and, it doesn't work. I still end up with two, flag, eighth notes. It will not beam them. I simple terms, I would like a beam to connect these, two, eighth notes, even though they are not in the same Layer.

I am running Finale 25 on a Windows desktop PC.
