I am currently using Finale 25.2 on a Windows 10 computer. One of the new features of Finale 25 is "transpose MIDI on input" for transposing instruments.
For example - if you are entering a Bb clarinet part, entering a written "C" will cause a Bb to speak from the computer speakers. (this is assuming that you have de-selected "display in concert pitch" from the documents menu).
I know many like this new feature, but I don't. I have been "cursed" with perfect pitch - when I enter a written "C" on a staff, I would like to hear a C spoken (even in French Horn/trumpet/saxophone parts) like the older versions of Finale used to do. When transcribing, I use what I hear as a double-check that I am entering everything correctly. Having the program notate a written "C" while speaking a Bb is very confusing.
Does anyone have a solution for this? De-selecting "Transpose MIDI on Input" from the MIDI/Audio -> Device Setup menu doesn't work. I would like the "old behavior" back
