Chord symbols can be moved up or down with the same sort of arrows as lyrics.

Fretboards have their own set of arrows that appear if one clicks on a fretboard.

I am using Songwriter. I want to use the half-diminished symbol.  thank you.

Does Songqwriter have the ability to edit chord suffixes? If not, you are out of luck unless you create a faux-chord symbol using text.

1. Select Index (bottom of left-hand column)
2. Search for chord
3. The (in the list) choose Chord Symbols > Type into score > Suffixes
4. Look under the Shortcuts subheading.

I cannot enter chord symbols. I have followed the manual:

• Choose the Chord tool . The Chord menu appears.
• Choose Chord > Manual Input.
• Click the note or beat on which you want the chord to appear. A cursor appears above the staff, aligned with the chord positioning triangles.

Nothing happens. I have not done it in awhile and have forgotten how I think.

It sounds like you are doing it correctly. You might try restarting the computer, and see if it helps. Is this a new file, or an old one? Does the chord tool not work in any file?

Once you choose the chord tool and click on a note, are you typing in the chord name from the QWERTY keyboard?

If you want to enter chords via a MIDI keyboard, you need to choose that option to Allow MIDI Input in the Chord Menu.
