Whilst preparing some lessons using the Exercise Wizard I tried to save the Prints to PDF

On a mac, this is simply selecting that save as PDF option rather than print.

I selected the Eb Major scale as the C scale printed out in A for Alto Sax – ok I get that.

However, the first pdf does not appear in the directory so I tried various things to make sure that I wasn’t doing something stupid. After an hour of trying I rebooted and printed the lesson off using a standard wind ensemble only to find that all saved except the piccolo which is the first in the queue which went to the printer.

I tried the Chamber orchestra and it too saves all but the first pdf which instead goes to the printer queue

Is this a known bug does anyone else get the same error?

It feels like a “Two Ronnie’s” comedy sketch

The good news is I create an ensemble with a sacrificial instrument that goes to the print queue, the bad news is I have to remember to stop my printing of the sacrificial instrument.

I don't know Exercise Wizard.

 

Printing in Finale 25 is way different than earlier versions. You need to go through the Help files to know all of your options. 

 

One of the many changes is that, in 25, the ability to generate small sized, true black .pdf files is gone from Print — both Mac OS and Finale's new Print Options. It is now found in Graphics/Export pages/pdf. Although Graphics/Export pages/pdf was introduced in 2014, one could still available through the Print menu — no longer.
