Did you run both installers from the download file? The second contains your Garritan/Aria install.

Screen shots can be attached by hovering over the Insert graphic, 2nd from the right. Since you're on a Mac, open Preview/Take Screen Shot/From Selection, grab the portion you want and save to .png or .jpg.

Mike, please note the attached screen shot. I did install Garritan sounds (took quite a while!), but the playback window remains the same. Do I need to restart the computer? Thanks.

In the MIDI/Audio > Device Setup pulldown, see if Rewire is activated. If it is, you would need to de-activate it.

Thanks, Adrian. I followed your instruction, and see displayed the option "reset rewire." When I clicked on that, a warning window appeared, offering the following: 

This option will clear Finale's ReWire state when a ReWire host terminates unexpectedly. For these changes to take effect, Finale will be shut down immediately.

Are you sure you want to continue?

I suspect I missed something when I followed the 5 steps associated with the v. 25 installer. May I ask if you have any further advice as to how I should continue.

Just check to make sure other music programs (DAW's in particular) that might use Rewire are not running before you start Finale. There are some additional threads/blog articles on how to correct unwanted Rewire programs seizing your Finale Rewire option, but I was not able to find links to them offhand yesterday.
