Hello I am trying to write out 5 16th notes in the space of 4 16th notes.  When I use the Triple tool to do this It puts a five over the notes and I am able to put in 4 16th notes then it will not allow me to add the last note.  When I click in to the next measure it will put a dotted 32nd note rest at the end of the 4 16th notes.  Can someone please help.

Finale offers several ways to enter tuplets.

Because of the tuplet entry method you are using, you can not end a measure with a tuplet unless you de-select “Check for Extra Notes”.

I'm trying to do the same thing except a 7 note run, also I'm not finding the "check for extra notes" box to de-select.

Are you using the Speedy Entry Tool, or the Simple Entry Tool?

 

To de-select “Check for Extra Notes” in Speedy:

Speedy menu > Check for Extra Notes (de-select if selected)

 

To de-select “Check for Extra Notes” in Simple:

Simple menu > Simple Entry Options > Check for Extra Notes (de-select if selected)
