Dear Finale User:
Sorry, but I am mystified that the cover page and any other page that follows it in the score is not included as a default setting. Do I have to add these pages manually?
OS 10.8.5
Finale 2014
Thanks!

Most parts do not (as a matter of course) include cover pages, although they can be added manually to extracted parts if desired, since extracted parts are separate Finale files. It might be simpler to print linked parts without page numbers to PDF and combine the cover pages and page numbers with the PDF software.

1) Since you are using Finale 2014, it is possible, but not absolutely necessary, to extract parts.
Instead, Finale 2014 has “linked parts”.
“Linked parts” is a feature that combines score and parts in the same document.
Correct a wrong note in the score, and the note is automatically corrected in the linked part.
As a matter of fact, you can not avoid generating linked parts, since extracted parts are created from linked parts.
In Other Words:
If you have not already generated linked parts, Finale will generate linked parts when you extract parts.
To view and edit the layout in a linked part:
Document menu > Edit Part > …
2) There are two ways to export to a PDF file:
a. Graphics Tool.
Graphics menu > Export Pages…
In the dialog box Export Pages, choose PDF.
If you are viewing the score, Finale will export the score.
If you are viewing a linked part, Finale will export that linked part.
b. Print.
In the Mac OS X default Print dialog, in the lower left corner, use the pop up menu, and choose “Save as PDF…”.
Or choose “Open PDF in Preview”, and save from Preview.
Or choose “Save as PostScript…”, then open the PostScript file in Preview, and save as PDF.
3) To get rid of the page numbers, hide them, or delete them.
