Using just the MIDI instruments, how can I boost percussion volume? I'm working on a few Christmas songs for the choir, and I would like sleigh bells (jingle bells) under the piece. Even at ffff, they are inaudible.

 

Am I doing something wrong? This is an issue almost every time I try to do anything with percussion.

I am having the exact same problem - wanting to add wind chimes to a piece, but cranked all the way up, they can barely be heard. The chimes are in the percussion toys, and there is no way that I can find to raise them to a truly audible level.

You shouldn't have to do this, but you might try lowering the volume of the other instruments when you enxport and then running the exported file through a program like Audacity to Normalize the volume.

 

Granted, that doesn't do much if you want to monitor your playback as you write.
