When I copy a part containing lyrics, then the lyrics in the lyric window become doubled. Step by step:

1. Write some music and insert lyrics.
2. Copy the part to another measure/staff without filter (or with lyrics enabled).
3. Check the lyrics window - the copied lyrics are now added to the end.

To prevent this, I have to turn copying lyrics off in the filter settings, then first copy the notes alone and then - by using clone lyrics function - copy it again.

So, if you could repair this, that would be great!

What version and OS?

I select measures with lyrics and copy routinely and have never experienced that.

This is by design, and not everyone wants it to change.

Does this mean that I shouldn't be able to copy and paste measures with lyrics induct and no doubling?

The Lyric Tool worked so poorly in the early days that I never used it. I've always just typed lyrics directly into the score.

Mike,

As far as I know, copying a passage including lyrics has always made a copy of the copied lyrics in the lyrics window. Presumably this is so editing one instance of a lyric does not affect the other(s). If you know a technique I do not, I would certainly find that useful in some circumstances. I would certainly like to see a "clean" lyrics edit window for export when I am finished a composition, just not at the expense of losing the ability to make corrections to lyrics in some parts but not others.

When I do not want separate versions of a lyric on different parts, I do what Oskar does: I copy with lyrics filtered out and then click-assign them afterwards. It is an extra step, but one I am willing to take.
