I have a 2 computer license for Finale 2012. We have only "installed" one license, on my daughter's laptop. I am going to use the other license on my laptop but I'm interested in upgrading to the current version for compatibility with other friends. However, Finale 2012 does everything my daughter needs to do &, therefore, she has no interest in upgrading.

My question is this - Will my daughter be forced to also upgrade, if I upgrade to v25? Or can she continue using Finale 2012 while I use v25?

She is running Windows 7 Pro & I am running Windows 10 Pro.

Thanks in advance.

When you pay to upgrade to Finale v25, you get two new authorizations.

Your "My Account" at Finale gives you access to download your Previous (registered) Finale versions.

The simple answer is No. In addition, 25 installs separately and does not overwrite 2012.

I have 2011, 2014.5 and 25 all running on my iMac. Although 2011 and 2014.5 have issues in my current OS, they both run and do not affect each other at all.

If you do not have the 2012 installer archived, download and do so before you upgrade to 25 as the 2012 installer will no longer be available from your User account.

That said, a Finale license comes with 2 installations but you are only supposed to use one at a time unless you have made other arrangements with MM Sales. My daughter also uses Finale.
