why does tempo lag as the piece goes on when playing in swing feel?

AM writing a jazz piece. I selected jazz in Human Playback and when I play the piece, the tempo slows down as the piece goes on. When I stop and return to the beginning the correct tempo is fine. When I start at, say, measure 44, the tempo is slower....not sure why or how to fix it so the tempo maintains throughout the playback.

Have you tried clearing MIDI Data (a good first step in this situation)?

At that point I would look for a hidden ritard, especially one without a finishing tempo following; but presumably you would already have checked for that.
