I really do not understand what happened to the "special tools palette" in Finale 2014?  I know it has something to do with the arrow in the top right corner, but other than that????  2014.5 has the palette, what happened?

Have you tried checking it off in the Window menu?

Is this what you want?

 

(I realize this is the v25 equivalent.)

Look in the windows menu, and see if it was unchecked.

You might also look in the Finale preferences (although I don't remember which subcategory it's in.). There is a checkbox to Close Subsidiary Pallets. make sure that is not checked, so the pallet will stay open.
