Hi there!  So I'm going to go crazy trying to fix this little thing.  

I have a simple song, ABA form.  I naturally copied and pasted A from the beginning to the end of the song and it looks fine.  But when I play it (VST, because MIDI isn't working on my computer), it goes from half note equals 150 to something that sounds like quarter note equals 150.  I keep working with the expression tool to fix that, to no avail.  

Any advice?  I'm totally new at this.

Two ideas:

 

1) Examine the expressions used in the document, and take a look at their playback.

Perhaps some of the expressions are defined for (un-intended) playback.

This could happen if you create a new expression via duplicating and editing an already existing expression.

 

2) The culprit could also be a tempo change in the document’s {MIDI Data}.

{MIDI Data} tempo changes override expressions with tempo effect.

To clear all tempo changes in the MIDI Data:

Selection Tool.

Select All.

Edit menu > Clear Selected Items…

In the window Clear Selected Items, click “None” to de-select everything, then select “Tempo Changes”.
