Why are there 7 notes in a 6/8 bar? How can I fix this?

I am using Finale 2012c on Windows 10.

Thank you

There are a couple possibilities that would explain this, but if you want to fix it, just delete what is not correct.

I erase the extra note, but a rest shows up, and I need that bar to be 6/8. What are the possibilities that would explain this?

Thanks.

Where did the music come from? Did you input it yourself?

What happens if you delete the rest?

What does your Time Signature panel say for the 6/8 measure?

Fixed it! In the Time Signature Panel it said 2+2+3 (I had several 7/8 time signatures in previous bars).

Thank you!

I’ll take a wild guess: this was from a scan, that you brought in via Import > TIFF

Actually, I had entered a 7/8 time signature for several measures. I copy and pasted it and somehow that issue occurred.
