I am trying to implode two staves containing the same 2/4 rhythm

Quarter note    followed by 3 eight note triplets.

When I implode I get a single sextuple containing

Dotted Quarter note followed by three eight notes.

OK, they are equivalent but the latter looks funky. How can I preserve the rhythm of the original.

Mac: Latest version of Finale.

I am not getting the same result.

How did you define your time signature?

Here my pattern is pairs of (quarter, 3-eigth triplet).

I suspect then this is a problem of a file created in a previous version of Finale. I note that staff lists for repeats are being ignored in this same file (a problem I have seen before).

 John Miano,

I am confused.

… I am trying to implode two staves containing the same 2/4 rhythm …

That is what you wrote.

But your attached screen shot shows 2/2 ???

Which is it?

2/4 or 2/2?

Perhaps one measure is {1 Quarter - 3 triplet Eighths - 1 Quarter - 3 triplet Eighths}?

Your problem is the way you define the measure(s) as 2/2. Instead define them as 4/4 displayed as 2/2.
