Imported MIDI cancels Garritan

Win10, Finale v. 27.

Garritan works for the pieces that came with version 27 and the ones I typed in myself.

However, if I import a MIDI file (File > Open > *.MID) there is no Garritan to select in ScoreManager.

I have tried:
Ctrl+A
followed by
Edit > Clear Selected Items > Midi
and then
MIDI/Audio > Reassign Playback Sounds

but I still only have SmartMusic SoftSynt in ScoreManager.

What do I miss?

Aaarh. Now I discovered that "Play Finale through ..." has changed from VST to MIDI. I believe loading the midi file had that effect.

You are correct. Importing MIDI resets everything. There's a recent Feature Request thread where I linked and quoted the documentation if you really need more confirmation.
