I had an issue with some instruments not playing back.  They were not always the same ones on different files.  I was advised ot re assign playback sounds which I did.  Now I have NO playback sounds at all.  I can see in the mixer that the sounds should be there with the up and down.  What is going  on?

You are using Mac Finale - right?

What version?

Thomas,

Look in this drop down. For some reason Finale likes to set these back to zero.

Thomas,

Does your playback cursor move?

You may, probably do, have a conflict with something on your computer. Did anything change? Just an update? New software or bluetooth? Anything that wasn't like it was when it worked? If we can't narrow that down to something like that you need to ask MM tech support for a solution which I am sure they will have.

The cursor does move in the playback window, as that is what I assume you mean.  I do not recall any updates in the last few weeks.  The EQ in the mixer goes up and down as though it were playing the instruments.  Sometimes some of the instruments do play as the last thing I opened was a chart with horns over a rhythm section.  The piano and bass played perfectly but the horns were quiet.  Thesis a poser.  Thanks for all the good advice.  I have been trying to fix this without MM help as I bug them too much already.

Thomas,

If the cursor is moving and other sounds on your computer work as expected, Finale thinks it is playing back sound. That narrows it down a bit as to where the problem lies. Play this to make sure all is working on your computer.

In your FINMIDI.INI file try changing the AsioEnable field from 1 to 0.

It looks like you're using a Mac so I don't know the path to your FINMIDI.INI.  Make a backup before you change it but it might work.

Would you want to send me the offending musx file and let me see if I can figure it out?
