I have an issue with random .musx pop-ups appearing in Finale, in mail, numbers.  Really pesky. They go away on their own.  I can't dismiss them.  But return often immediately -- go away -- come back. etc, until I move on.

I have never experienced that on my Windows machine. Hope you can find out how to stop it.

Carol, are you, by any chance, on Mac Ventura? I've also experienced file names sort of "bleeding" into various windows. As you say, they go away on their own.

Next time it happens, I'm going to try for a screenshot. Could you do the same, please?

Hi Mike/Carol I’ve noticed it too, I’m using Ventura with finale 27.3 on an M2 mini I’ll try to take a screen shot as well. It seems as if it’s a bleed through a window in the background onto the score/part that is open

Kevin, I’m sorry/not sorry you’re seeing the same thing. It’s good to know it’s not limited to my machine. As soon as one of us can grab a screenshot, it should go to Finale HQ.

Thanks for all the input.  Yes, I have Mac Ventura 13 w//finale 27.  It would appear to be peculiar to that combo. I have screen shot but for some reason it won't up-load.  I tried jpg and png.  Also very tough to connect with a person at Finale HQ.  Hope someone else has success with an SS to upload.  Yesterday I had a real pesky one in Mail.  Very persistent when the curser was in place and ready to type.  Almost as if it was associated with the curser itself.

Got one. But it wasn't in Finale, it was in Mail. I'll send it in to Support.

Thanks, Mike.  Here's hoping . . . On another subject, I have issues  with 6/8 time signature in hyper scribe.  MM plays 2 beats/measure with mm eighth=112.  Any tips?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for contacting MakeMusic Customer Support. I'd be happy to discuss this issue with you. We've been seeing this issue on macOS 13 Ventura with all Finale software recently, and I myself experience this issue too.
While we're not completely certain, this does appear to be a Ventura issue, but we're still investigating it.

In my personal experience, this happens when file names are abbreviated in Finder because they are longer than the column width in Finder's List view can accommodate. What appears in the screenshot is what appears if you hover your mouse over an abbreviated file name (or file type name) in Finder's column view. The best suggestion we have at the moment is to experiment with either (a) widening the columns in Finder's List view to fit the longest file names and file types or (b) switching to a different Finder view such as Icon view to see if that alleviates this problem.

Again, we are currently investigating the issue, and will update you once we know more, but unfortunately, I can't provide a timeline for that. Hopefully the issue doesn't have too large of an impact at this time. In addition, if you're running Finale on any other computers that don't run Ventura, you shouldn't run into this issue on those.

Carol, I don't use Hyperscribe, so I can't be much help. Looking at the Time Signature in its dialogue box, is it showing the 6/8?

Yes, it is re 6/8.  Will continue to research.

Thank you for the support response/no response to pop-ups!  Good to know they are aware of the issue.  Maybe we will see a fix in the next up-date.

What I see in the pop-ups are examples of templates.  When you select a template for setting up the score, the description looks like your Organ Solo (Landscape).musx. Not sure what Juliet is talking about.

Agreed. I see the same thing. Not shortened names.

Juliet, not clear about your response to the .musx issue.  The pop-ups I experience are actually template urls from Finale similar to example Mike R gave you.  I get them in Finale, also in Mail and Numbers.  I, too, have Ventura, Finale v.  Definitely a distraction.

I just had another with a title of one of my original compositions, saved as a .musx file on my computer.

I updated her this morning. With any luck, someone will care enough to DO something.

Following up on this conversation from 6 months ago, hoping for a solution.   These small boxes continue to be a nuisance as they get in the way of seeing the actual music score.  The example from Mike Rosen is similar to my experience but not always  with .musx.
