I'm doing an arrangement/engraving job. The original file is from Finale 2014; I'm working on 27.3 on a Mac. The score has courtesy time signatures that come after the barline. But as you see in the picture below, it's appearing on some staves but not on others — except I can't seem to attach a picture, even though it's a 20Kb .png screen shot (I'm getting an error message). This is how my day has been going. Anyway, because I don't know how to make the courtesy time signature appear after the barline, I don't know how to fix this issue. I've looked in Document Options and in the Measure Tool. Your help is appreciated. In the meantime, I will try to get a picture of what I am talking about.

There we go! So, the courtesy time signature appears at the end of the system after the barline. Sometimes. Can we get it all the time? Or in places where it makes sense, say at the top of each instrument group? Thanks in advance.

Do any of your staves have independent time signatures? Do any of the measure attributes have the Hide Cautionary Clefs, checked?

Since you can't post Finale files on the Finale forum, could you post your file to Dropbox, and post a link so we can examine it?

Yes, without any further info we can't diagnose the problem. We need to see the file. My email if you care to have me look it over is, e e biggs one at g mail dot com. Of course without any spaces and a real number 1 not spelled out. And proper email  verbiage. (keeps the spammers at bay)

It's not my piece and I don't think the composer would want his piece posted for other to have access to; it's also a massive file. No one has independent time signatures. None of the measures have Hide Cautionary Clefs checked. So you are saying there is nothing in any sort of regular parameters that would set up the piece to have cautionary time signatures show up after the bar line? I guess I will ask the composer (I'm trying not to bug him with those kinds of technical questions, but one must do what one must do...).

There's nothing I can think of other than that Hide Cautionary option. Maybe ask tech support. But they will want to see the file, most likely.

Would the composer be OK with you just excerpting the page, or even just a few measures?

Of course that's your prerogative but it would be entirely safe with either Mike Rossen or myself. We both have done this numerous times but that is totally up to you. But I agree with MR, if you ask MM tech support they are going to want to see the file too.

We simply can't guess at what could be wrong. Other than...

... nothing I can think of other than that Hide Cautionary option.
