To Whom It May Concern:

I have been importing midi files with Finale since 2008.  Usually I have been getting scores like the file Georgia on my mind, but recently things have been going very, very wrong.  For example I tried to import Smile, and the original score is in F but it imports into C and the entire result is a mess.  I am currently using Finale 2014 because the later versions just do not work.  In fact, I would like a refund on the later versions that I have purchased, because I cannot use them.  If you have a solution to this problem I would be very grateful.  I am enclosing the files I mentioned previously.

Sincerely,

Larry

This is not a refund request!  I am asking for help not smart remarks.

Larry, you said, "I would like a refund on the later versions that I have purchased,..." So Mike's answer was trying to help direct your request to someone who could help you.

If you had some other kind of help in mind, please be more specific. Unfortunately this forum doesn't let folks post Finale files (strange as that seems), but one can post the file in a Dropbox type site and post a link to it here.

MIDI can be very strange. Some people who post MIDI files use pitch bend to keep others from dropping the MIDI into notation programs as a way to protect copyrighted material. I have no idea whether this is what you are seeing when you imported Smile.
