Mac os Ventura

Finale 27

I am no more able to apply system margins; I suspect is because of dragging via the staff tools... any way to globally change this and return to default staff positioning?

thanks

Before you return to default positioning, make sure that the default settings are as you need them:

Document menu > Page Format > Score…

(These settings are the default settings for new pages / systems)

To return to default staff positioning:

Page Layout Tool.

Page Layout menu > Redefine Pages > …

What do the staves look like in Scroll View ?

Are the staves - in Scroll View - spaced as needed ?

You can change the Score’s staff spacing to Scroll View Spacing:

Staff Tool.

Staff menu > Respace Staves…

(Set to Scroll View Spacing)

In that case we probably need to examine the actual Finale document, to find out what is going on.

You can not attach a Finale document here in the forum, but you can upload the Finale document elsewhere on the web (like e. g. in Dropbox), and then here in the forum add a hyperlink to the document.

I will,

in the meantime I followed this hint by George Mohammed (5 years ago...)

" Select the Staff Tool and drag the top staff up to its limit. I'm guessing you dragged them down with the staff tool at some point. For some reason, doing this positioned the system below it's frame (not sure exactly how to describe it). Almost all of your systems are like this."

and it worked
