I'm running OS version 13.3.1 (a) (22E772610a) on a Mac Studio.  I've been using Sibelius all year and wanted to try out Finale for Mac.  I've installed it twice and keep getting the "Unhandled Exception Caught" when I install the trial version from the website.

It's really disappointing that it cannot be installed on a new Mac high end computer.  Is there any guidance one can give me to properly install the software or do I have to go back to either MuseScore or Sibelius?  What a shame.

Many thanks!

Glenn

Sorry you are having problems. Of course it can be installed on a Studio. Unfortunately, the only thing we know from the message is that you have a conflict. “Unhandled Exception Caught” tells us absolutely nothing else.

That you’ve installed it twice may give us the clue. My only recommendation is to remove it completely and try again. Make sure you install in the default location with full Admin privileges. This often works and is likely the first thing that Support will suggest.

Because of the holiday, MakeMusic Support will not be available till next Tuesday. If the above does not work l you can Submit a request through the link at the top of the page then.

Hello Again!  MacOS 13.31 is the latest version of Mac Ventura.  I'm on a Mac Studio M1Max with 32GB.  I've removed Sibelius, and the machine is clean.  As per Mike Halloran, I removed Finale 27 Trial Version and any remaining files as per Mike's suggestion.

I re-installed Finale 27 Trial in a new download and still I get the same message when I run the program.  I am running Logic Pro but I could not find any conflicts.  I also use ECAMM Live but again could not find any conflicts.  I would surely appreciate any other suggestions.

Many thanks,

Glenn

I tried installing the trial version on my wife’s M1 MacBook Air and could not duplicate this. I will likely be getting a Mac Studio of my own soon ad will be doing a clean install — frankly, I don’t expect a problem.

Just to be clear: you are installing in the default location with Admin privileges and are granting access to all users of the Mac, correct?
