I needed to insert some new measures at the beginning of a piece of music.  I inserted the measures needed but unable to copy the chords from the current music. I need to copy whole sections of chords.

I've tried going to Edit/Filter and ensured that chords were ticked but they won't paste into the new part of the music.  I seem to remember being able to do this in earlier versions of Finale but now there seems to be fewer operations available.  How do I put in chords without having to type them in?

I love Finale and have been using it since 2005 in one version or another.

Patricia Gilbert,

Are you using Windows Finale? - perhaps version 2014?

Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce your problem in my own copy of Finale v27.

For me the chord symbols copy without any problems.

Does the problem happen in all Finale documents? - or is the problem document specific?

I think I have sorted the problem.  Before copying and pasting I needed to go into 'Edit/Filter' and check the chord box.  It seems to be working.  I had spent so much time trying to insert measures with chords at the start of the music, that I was tearing my hair out because although  the music pasted, the chords wouldn't.

I shall make a note of the Edit/Filter option now and hope that it works in the future.

I love Finale and always recommend it to friends especially as the support is SO GREAT.  Thanks for your help.
