No more image attachments? This will be hard to explain....

Finale 26, Mac. I use a left/top Page Text Block on page 1 for instrument name and genre/tempo two lines below in a band score  - all in the same text block. This looks and works great in score and all parts except for one part. There, the genre/tempo text is three lines below. The Text Block is linked to the score, all parts are at the same formatting and percentage.

Looking at other scores I used this template before, I see the same effect - on that specific part, page 1.

I can work with it but this was to make everything look very nice and uniform. Also, after over 30 years working with Finale it bothers me to encounter things I can't fix or explain.

1) I suspect that the “pesky” part is not formatted as the other parts.

Something to try:

a. Document menu > Page Format > Parts…

Take a good look at the Page Format settings, and make sure that everything is as needed.

These settings are the document’s “default” settings for parts - when new systems or pages are created.

Next:

b. Go to the “pesky” part, switch to the Page Layout Tool, and

Page Layout menu > Redefine Pages…

If the settings in {Page Format for Parts} are as needed, then a {Redefine Pages} should not change the part formatting - unless the “pesky” part is formatted different from the default.

2) It may not be necessary, but I shall be happy to examine the Finale document, to find the culprit.

You can e-mail it to me - gtpthomsen ad aim dot com - or attach the Finale document on the other Finale Forum at
