I'm using Finale version 26.3.1520 on Windows 10

I transcribe violin pieces. There are times when I want to indicate a "double stop" on the same note. That is. which is common in fiddle music, to play and A on the A string at the same time as playing the same pitched A on the D string. This is commonly displayed by showing two noteheads on the same line or space. I can achieve this by creating an articulate then placing in with the Articulation Tool. It's quite a cumbersome method.

Does any one know of an easier way to do this?

Simple Entry Tool.

You can use the computer keyboard to create chords by adding an interval on a selected note.

Example:

To add a fifth on a selected C (to get the fifth C - G), tap the 5 key.

To add a sixth on that fifth (to get the chord C - G - E), tap the 6 key.

Similarly, to add a unison on a selected A, tap the 1 key.

Also, when a single note in a chord (i. e. multiple notes on the same stem) is selected, you can move that note up/down with the arrow keys.

Example:

The dyad A - B. When the B is selected, you can move the B down with the DownArrow key, to get the unison A - A.
