Does anyone know of a way to double the length of both notes AND rests/empty measures between those notes? So that a minim either side of an empty measure of 4/4 becomes a semibreve either side of two empty measures, for example.....

I suppose that you already know about

Utilities menu > Change > Note Durations…

- right?

 

Unfortunately the utility does not work on Default Whole Rests in empty measures.

Hence you must first change the Default Whole Rests to Real Whole Rests.

 

Plug-ins menu > Note, Beam, and Rest Editing > Change to Real Whole Rests

 

When you are done with the “music stretching”, you can change the Real Whole Rests to Default Whole Rests.
