Sometimes in vocal or choral music you want to include whispered, spoken or shouted text that in unpitched. First, change the noteheads to an x to indicate that they are unpitched. Then, use the expression tool to create a new expression such as “whisper”, “spoken” or “shout”. Set the key velocity to 1. Notes will stay muted until a new dynamic is encountered during playback.
