Windows 11 V27.3.0.137

I think I've inadvertantly done something I don't know how to fix. When I opened a file, an entire staff from start to finish showed greyed out notes. On playback, the notes play, but visually disappear entirely. Choosing a random measure in Speedy Entry, the notes appeared dark black as is the usual. I clicked 'o' to grey out a note, and the note did grey out. So the global grey out for that entire staff doesn't seem to be associated with greying out specific notes in Speedy Entry. So, as said, without realizing it, in my previous session, I probably did something that affected all the notes in the staff. Any idea on what I may have done? I've searched the Staff, Utilities, and Measure menus but haven't been able to locate the issue. Thanks.

My first guess would be Blank Notation - since Blank Notation behaves as described.

Blank Notation is done with the Staff Tool.

There are two ways to create Blank Notation.

1) Via the Staff Attributes.

Staff Attributes are “global” (= for all the measures in the entire document).

To get to the Staff Attributes, double-click the staff.

2) Via a Staff Style

Staff Styles are “local” (= you can apply a Staff Style to a selected measure region).

To see the Staff Styles:

Staff menu > Show Staff Styles

Staff menu > Show Staff Style Names

(They will only show when you are in the Staff Tool)
