Hi to all, I know that Spitfire BBC was made for DAW, I get that, but we can connect it with Finale, the problem is that we only have 8 track . I was working with Notion and it was going really well for that . There is exemple in spitfire and finale site on how to connect it with more then 8 track using Sibelius or Dorico and then they say that for Finale is "in the same idea..." but really, I don't get it. I just can't make the parallel between the way they make it in Sibelius and in Finale. Anyone could explain it to me :)
Hi,
You don't say what version of Finale nor if you're running Mac or Windows. I'm not sure it makes a difference but it might so please let us know. My understanding is that a new instance of the Spitfire Player is required for each AU (Mac) or VST (Win) and that you are limited to 8 in Finale. The info I found is over three years old so I don't know if it is current.
Although Rewire is dead and gone, you can use interactive MIDI to slave a DAW to Finale as the Master. I have screen shots for doing this on the Mac.

Do you have a link to this? Is it this Knowledge Base article?

Hi Mike ! I was not expecting an answer !!! thank you to take time to reply to my message :)
Here is my story now that I'm peaceful this morning.
I used to be an "expert" with finale in the old time, but I have stop using it to switch for hand writing. "Papier + Crayon" ! the real method !! lol. It was also because I have focus on writing for myself at the piano for the last 10 years. But now, I have accept a big orchestral gig and I need to get back to the computer. So I have bought a nice sampler... the best one, the BBC Pro ! the time for Quick Time was over... lol... then I realize the it was impossible to work with Finale ! I was sad. So I had to work with another soft, I have used Notion and it was wonderful until the end when I had to extract parts and the "bordel" started (when I wrote my previous message, I was desperate and sad). The problem, I think, is that it is not really compatible with the new Mac M1. Other than that, it is really a wonderful soft. So in despair, I have upload the Finale Demo ( so the latest version) and I'm trying to finish my work due ... last week.
I'm working with my new Mac Studio M1 with the latest OS version. My BBC and Finale are also Up to date.
For the rewire method, I remember that we used to do that in 2000. it was a bit weird to manage, I hope that 20 years later there is a better way.
I I'm looking for the same example that they did but for Finale, like why making it for Sibelius and Dorico ... and not finale. I have also wrote to Spitfire.
My dear Mike, I wish you a nice day.
Christian
P.S.: the time for Quick Time has come back !
I can no longer use Notion as many of my VIs are no longer compatible. It is way overdue for an update and Fender, the new owner of PreSonus has promised one — someday. A client uses Sibelius and prefers to pay my rate for the use of my VIs than buy them himself and learn how to use them. I recently switched to Finale for that use.
Spitfire makes it quite clear that BBC is for DAWs and not notation apps. Kontakt is far more “Finale friendly” and there are orchestra libraries that work well and sound great. I found it less expensive to purchase Komplete Ultimate Collectors Edition than the the individual orchestra libraries I wanted.

AudioBro (LASS etc.) has very popular orchestra libraries for Kontakt, also. LASS can be stunning.

Rewire… it would be nice if that still worked but Propellerhead killed it years ago and Apple pulled all RW components from Monterey 12.2 as well as Logic and GarageBand at the same time. I’ll post the screen shots for IAM later this morning in case that will help.
I would imagine that if one has already produced a sound file in a DAW, one doesn't need to reproduce the sounds in Finale and can just import MIDI or XML into Finale from the DAW to produce parts.
Professional arranger Tim Davies has a video on how he does this if you find it helpful.
