One way is to enter the TAB by hand. Finale can convert that to a guitar staff or a grand staff as you prefer. Start here.

https://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/FinaleMac/Content/Finale/Guitar-notation.htm?Highlight=convert%20tablature%20to%20notation

SmartScore 64 Pro claims to recognize TAB though, frankly, I have never attempted to use it that way. Here is the special pricing for Finale owners. I recommend downloading if for evaluation first. Some types of scores take longer to correct before exporting to Finale than it would to do be hand from the beginning. Only one way to find out, right?

First I want to thank you for offering your help.  Let me try and explain better!

I'm having difficulty playing music on the piano that is written in Guitar TAB so I want to

convert the TAB notation to the Grand Staff in order to play it easier. This is what it looks like:

To convert guitar tablature (TAB) into piano notation, follow these steps: 1. Understand the basics of guitar TAB notation, which represents the guitar's strings and frets. 2. Identify the melody and chords, which represent the main vocal or instrumental line. 3. Transpose the chords if necessary, if the key is not suitable for piano. 4. Rewrite the melody in treble clef notation, using standard music notation symbols. 5. Note the chords in bass clef, using chord diagrams. 6. Add tempo and articulations, and dynamic markings to convey the desired musical interpretation. 7. Double check for accuracy, making adjustments as needed. 8. Playtest and refine the piano notation for playability and accuracy. 9. Format the sheet music for readability, including page layout, margins, and spacing. 10. Add pedal marks if the original guitar TAB includes sustained notes or a legato feel. Finally, finalize and share the sheet music.

Thank you everyone for your help!  I tried doing simple entry using a template and ran into difficulty but I'm grateful for the help I'm receiving!  I'm having to re-learn to use finale it's been so long since I used it.  When I set up I chose from the General Template and simple entry. The format didn't have the tools on the left side and top and I couldn't enter in bass Clef whole notes or any other note value only 1/8 notes even though I tried other notes and erased rests.  I'm going to start again and choose SETUP WIZARD.

ALSO I ordered a midi-guitar called a ARTIPHON instrument 1 MIDI controller with a  USB for Speedy Entry in Guitar Tablature...

Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't Finale have the capability to switch a notation from Guitar Tablature to Grand Staff notation?

I don't know if I should start another thread conversation for that question but I also need to ask this:

I GOT A NOTICE THAT THERE IS A FINALE UPGRADE AVAILABLE AND I'M LEARY BECAUSE I'VE UPGRADED BEFORE AND THEN IT DISCOVERED MY FINALE PROGRAM WASN'T COMPATIBLE WITH MY MAC.

CAN YOU TELL ME IF THE NEWEST UPGRADE IS COMPATIBLE WITH MacOS BIG SUR Version 11.7.7

I'M CURRENTLY USING 27.2.0.142 AND I'M TOLD I CAN UPGRADE TO 27.3.0.160

Entering TAB will default to Guitar notation but this is easily changed to Grand Staff. Start with the page in the current manual that I posted—it has many links. You should quickly learn to search it and that will be the key for anything you want to do in Finale.

Finale 27.3 is a bug fix for the most part. Download it from within your User Account and run both installers. It runs fine from MacOS 10.14 Mojave on.

I don’t think the page you posted will scan into SmartScore 64 Pro as is—depends on resolution and other factors—but I’ll give it a shot.
