I want to share a discovery I made while being frustrated that Auto Save was giving me errors messages and not working. I rebooted, reset all preferences and other things but to no avail. I finally discovered that the problem wasn't with Finale but how I named my file. I had a forward slash (/) in the name which the program couldn't digest properly. Once I renamed the file, the problem went away.

I want to post this in case someone else has this issue. Bottom line, avoid non-alphanumeric symbols in your filenames. I'm sure some are fine but the slash symbols are traditionally problematic.
