Hello, is there such a thing as Finale Guitar and Finale Piano? Or does the one software have features for both?

Thank you Mike.

I do have an older version, I'll take a look. But this was quite a long time ago, no idea where a username might be, can I sign in with my current account and apply for an upgrade?

You can use the Submit a request link at the top of the page to contact Support and Sales. Send them any older email addresses and serial numbers etc. that they might need.

 

A few years ago, I had to consolidate three accounts into one and split another to my daughter's name. They handled it easily and all is correct.

Your original serial number and original email address is all you need. Your serial number can be found under the Help>About Finale tab. If your version is early enough it is printed in your boxed set Finale manual.

If it shows up in your User Account (you can't post here without one), you can upgrade internally. If not, there are other ways.

 

If you do not have your own license (EDU and Corp site license accounts for example), best to contact MM Sales through the Submit a request link at the top of the page to ask about your options.

Have you simply tried to do it on the web site. I think you can if you have, and apparently you do, the proper serial number and email address. Finale 27.4.1 is a very good upgrade. It has over 20 "bug" fixes in it alone.

Yes, I have. I think the problem may be that the original package (finale 2003) that I have in the box was purchased by my brother and no doubt registered with his email address. He gave me the software. So of course Finale does not have me registered as the owner. I am opening an account with my email address and this may be the source of the problem.

And you don't have that original email address? I don't know how Make Music handles that since you are not the original purchaser. Technically you aren't entitled to the upgrade price but I suggest you contact Make Music sales department. I have known them to be quite friendly and as helpful as they can be.

Yes, I think I know the original email address but I don't want by brother bothered by this. If I'm not entitled to this then that's the end of it. I have contacted them, I'll see what kind of response I get.

IIRC The full Finale package now costs less than the former upgrade price.
