We have saved scores for musical theater music and need to add a piano part to each one.  We have a Clavichord 809.  Are any of your products that produce printable musical scores compatible with the Clavichord 809? Is this possible, using a Midi connection?

If yes, We also have a MD-BT01 Midi connector.  Would that be sufficient?

Additionally, can we copy existing score from Noteflight to your products?

Standing by...

Thank you very much

Susan this is a user supported forum. You should probably contact Make Music tech people with your query.

Submit a request at the top of the page.

I doubt that MakeMusic offers direct tech support for Yamaha keyboards and MIDI connectors but that really isn't the issue—Yamaha does. You will need to learn how to use Finale with MIDI — fairly basic functionality but nothing that anyone (including Tech Support) is going to cover thoroughly in a few paragraphs on a board like this.

Noteflight is an online app. According to their site:

Open a score and select the export option in the Score menu. From the list of export options, choose "Noteflight Score" to download the file. The file will download to your computer as the name of the score with ". xml" after it.

This is good: Finale can import MusicXML as is covered in the documentation and tutorials. How well this works depends entirely on how well the Noteflight developers implemented the tools into their application.

There's only one way to find this out. Download the Finale demo. Watch the tutorials, read the Getting Started. Learn how to use MIDI and MusicXML. We here on the Users board and MakeMusic Support can answer specific questions once you have the tools in hand and are trying to use them. I strongly recommend having tha manual open in a browser window while learning—you will be searching it a lot.

Good luck.
