I purchased and downloaded Finale v27.3 and installed it. When I launch it, I get the popup "Unhandled exception caught". I installed it on a Macbook Pro 15,2 with Intel i7 CPU, 16GB RAM, running Ventura 13.5.2. I've uninstalled and re-installed, but I received the same error. Please help troubleshoot.
Unfortunately, this is an old message that has many possible causes, both Mac and Windows. A quick Google search will show threads from 2009 — obviously, none of those causes are relevant now.
Are you a new user or updating from a previous version? This can make a difference.
First, update Ventura to the current 13.6.2 to eliminate a macOS error.
Other than that, I have 27.3 running over 4 Macs on Ventura 13.6.2. Two Intel, an M1 MacBook Air, an M2 Studio and over Catalina on a 2012 MacBook Pro. Some of these are test machines and two belong to my wife who also uses Finale.
There are a number of other messages that should have popped up including granting access to the microphone and other permissions/security requests; all need to be granted. You may have to shut down and re-boot for some of these to appear.
