I tried to copy and paste a selection from one finale score into a totally new finale project. The part copied over to the new file visually correctly but the computer is just playing back a drone on the tonic, not the actual part. Seems like it might not be reading the notes on the page? Am I missing a setting? New to finale... Operating 27.3 on Mac OS Sonoma (I know it's not recommended)

That may or may not be the problem. The only things I can come up with are a) create a Ventura Volume and install 27 onto it to see if you can duplicate the issue or b) wait till 27.4 drops. BTW, the Sonoma 14.1.1 update dropped yesterday with a lot of bug fixes.
Since no Macs have shipped with Sonoma yet, any can have a Ventura Volume installed. Apple Support has docs on creating macOS Volumes (do not partition!) and can walk you through it over the phone if needed. These can be removed later when no longer needed. If you see the same results, then we need a whole lot more info on what you are doing so that we can spot the problem—MM Support will need the same information.
