OK this is probably an easy on to answer but if you have a full section of 17 first violins. If the score then goes down to let’s say six players and then down to 3 players how are you able to make the software understand this? Using GPO 5 Windows 11 Cubase 13 Pro. Thank s in advance.

The Orchestral Strings do have "Small Sections" instruments, with 6-player Violins, and 3-player Violins. 

 

So you would need to switch the instruments using different MIDI channels.
