In Finale 2014 when I type a chord followed by :0 to open the chord index finale crashes. 

I have deleted the preferences file but it didn't help.

I need Finale to compete my assignments at university so i need to get this fixed asap so any help would be greatly appreciated

What happens when you type the chord letter and then right-click on the chord (or whatever the Mac equivalent is, if applicable) to Edit Chord Definition?

Are you using Finale 2014.5, the latest version? If not, it might be advisable to install the free update.
