Finale 2000 PC I type lyrics into score on scroll view, but when looked at in page view, the lyrics have shifted out of place up or down, so that it cannot be printed
The placement of items and music spacing in Scroll View will appear different than in Page View meaning that adjustments that you make in scroll view will not look the same as the will in page view. I would suggest making adjustments for printing in Page View for the cleanest printed result.
I can see that the change from scroll view to page view involves applying a different set of spacing algorithm, since now, measures per staff comes into play. Wouldn't lyric spacing be reconsidered, as well? (Of course, any manual spacing done in scroll view would screw things up.)
Yes, I made a mistake in assuming that J Tilley had made adjustments to make it look nice in Scroll view in addition to typing into the score.
In which case, Tilley, I would again suggest doing all of the entry in Scroll view and then adjusting lyric baselines/placement/etc. in Page view for printing.
Thank you all for your comments. In fact, I have tried these solutions to no avail so far.
The issue is that the piece in question is being written in long score for SATB choir and piano. The lyrics in page view are appearing in places such as on top of the piano part, or way above the stave. Because of the polyphonic nature of the piece, I cannot simply put in the lyrics for all voices together, as I would for example, a homophonic hymn setting.
I will have to follow up the idea of entering lyrics one page at a time in page view, which will take much longer, of course.
Further helpful suggestions will be most welcome.
