Hi, I'm using Finale 14 How (on earth) do I enter (type in, create,) a guitar chord diagram WITHOUT a name (symbol, such as A, C, F or whatever)? I just want the simple DIAGRAM to be on the page so that any monkey of a musician can physically see and read it without having to know the "name" of the chord. Thanks a million (chords)!

In the Chord menu, click the option to Show Fretboards.

In the Edit Staff Attributes screen Items to Display section, uncheck Chords but leave Fretboards checked.

I would like to be able to put chord diagrams over every note (even if there is not a chord change).  Also, I'm looking to put chord diagrams for a 4-string banjo. I'd be happy to just have a blank 4-string diagram and fill in the dots myself.  Is there a way to do this, or is the guitar diagrams the only one supported?

Thanks

Bob

Are you familiar with Finale’s Fretboard Editor?

Well, this looks like a great step forward, thanks for posting!  I am not able to find this inside my Finale (I'm running Songwriter 2012).  Is this is Finale, or is the Fretboard editor a separate product?   Thanks!!!

Okay, I did some searching in the meantime, and found how to get access to this; my conclusion is that this feature is not in Songwriter 2012 and came along later, so it looks like I would need to upgrade to be able to do this.  Thanks again!

Bob,

Please put your version of Finale and your operating system info in your profile by pulling down your name in the gray area at the top of the page. It's hard to help without knowing what program you are using.
