Is there a way to have the final measure reflect the value of the pickup note without showing a new time signature? I'm in 2/4 with an eighth note pickup; the final measure should have only the value of three eighths. I tried changing the time signature of the last measure, and would be happy with that if I could hide that time signature without also hiding the time signature in measure one.

Use the Time Signature Tool to change the last measure to 3/8. In the same dialog box, hit the "more options" button and check "Use Different Time Signature for Display", that being 2/4.

If you change the time signature in the last measure but want to hide the time signature, highlight the measure you want and press return. This will bring up the "Measure Attributes" dialogue box. In the the middle left of the window it has options for key signatures and time signatures. If you only have the one measure highlighted, then you can select "Always Hide" next to the Time Signature option, and then your time signature will be hidden. Hope that works for you!

Hi CJ Garcia,

I am working with Printmusic 2014. I tried your suggestion. In my application "Measure attributes" did not have an "Always Hide" option.

Do I assume that you are working with Finale? That being the case how can I hide the time signature in the last bar in Printmusic 2014?

@Fred,

I'm not sure PrintMusic can do that. You may need full Finale. Try asking your PrintMusic question at

There are many more PrintMusic gurus who check that board frequently.
