Finale 2010 Windows 7

Recently old computer died with 2014 and I installed 2010 on new computer.  I want to transfer newer files to older version.  I also want to convert unsaved files in bak files to notation files.  Any help?

Figure out a way to install Finale 2014d or 2014.5 onto something. The file type is not backwards compatible to F-2010.

In F-2014, you can export a file to 2012 format but that can't be opened in 2010 either.

Suggest you use XML Dolet plug-ins if nothing better surfaces.

OK, I'll bite. How does one extract MusicXML out of a file that can't be opened?

Mike,

I thought your suggestion already covered the "how to open" question.

If Ralph can install Finale 2014--or if the demo of v25 will export XML (e.g. has not been hobbled)--then my suggestion should help Ralph import XML (via the appropriate free Dolet XML download) into Finale 2010.

Ahhh yes, we are on the same page. If he installs 2014 or 25, he should be able to just open the old files and export to MusicXML.

He is on Windows 7. If 32bit, he needs to install 2014 or 2014.5. If 64bit, he can use 2014.5 or Finale 25.

What at he wants in the OP cannot be done, however.
