I have I Mac and a Yamaha DGX keyboard- What do I do next to connect them and use my keyboard as a midi keyboard?

Thank you!

Hi Stephanie

First, you will need an appropriate USB cable. If you don't already have one, get something like https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-USB-2-0-Cable--Male/dp/B00NH11KIK/ref=lp_464394_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1472438058&sr=1-4

Next, you will need to go to the Yamaha support site and find the USB MIDI drivers for your keyboard.

http://download.yamaha.com/search/product/?language=en&site=usa.yamaha.com&category_id=16084&product_id=792246

The link above should take you to the downloads for a DGX 230 keyboard.

If yours is a different model, just select the appropriate model from the list and click on "Select"

Finally, follow the instruction set out in the Finale manual on how to set up your MIDI system

http://usermanuals.finalemusic.com/FinaleMac/Content/Finale/Installation_for_Macintosh2.htm

The above link is for Finale 25 on the Mac.

If you're running a different version of Finale, open the user manual and search for "MIDI Keyboard". Locate and open "Setting up your MIDI system" from the search results.

Cheers...
