In Finale 2014.5 running on Mac OS X (El Capitan, v. 10.11.6), when I play back a score, there's a delay, and then the tracks play out of sync and cut in and out randomly. When score is finished, there's no sound cutoff, and there are also some artifacts that keep sounding intermittently up to five minutes later, like some dump that never did.

Happens to me too, running Mac OS X (Yosemite, v. 10.10.5).

I'm having this problem as well. Driving me crazy! Was there ever a solution given?

Nothing that helped the problem.  My first fix was to load my second upload to a Windows machine, which worked, but then had to relearn the Windows commands.  Ultimately I ended up upgrading to Finale 25 (with all of its current growing pains...).

I found a solution, at least in my case. I did this. It is from one of the support solutions for no playback at all.

Please follow the steps below to return Finale's preferences to their default settings...

  • Quit Finale
  • In the Finder program toolbar, navigate to Go > Go to Folder.
  • Type or copy & paste the following location:
    • ~/library/preferences
  • In the Preferences folder, find a file named "Finale 2014.5 Preferences". Drag it into the trash.
  • Empty your trash.
  • Restart your computer.
  • Relaunch Finale 2014.5.

Deleting the preferences worked for me! Thanks. Now, we'll see if the fix sticks...
