After reinstalling Finale 2007c in Windows 10, the programs hangs and crashes at its splash screen. Have tried Vista compatability with no success.

From what I can find, Finale 2007c is only compatible with compatible with Windows XP (32) and Windows 2000.

Hmmm, without knowing more about your specific computer, I'm not sure what else there is to do.

Here's the link from MakeMusic's Knowledge base with System Requirements: https://makemusic.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/216545087-System-Requirements-for-MakeMusic-Notation-Products

and here's the entry for 2007 (PC)

Finale 2007 for Windows®

Make sure that you have the Finale 2007c update in place.

  • Windows XP 32-bit
  • DVD-ROM or CD-ROM drive (for installation)
  • 800X600 minimum monitor resolution
  • Minimum 256MB RAM (1GB or more recommended for optional use of Garritan sounds: more RAM = more available sounds)
  • 200MB hard drive space required for software and user manual. An additional 800MB hard drive space is required for all VST/AU sounds included with Finale 2007

Hope that can help guide you towards some answers.

Reinstalled the update, which it said it already had. Computer is way above all the minimums for those listed for 2007. Don't know if perhaps it doesn't like my video card. Lowered the resolution and had the same result.

Hi Wayne

Try setting the compatibility mode to Windows XP (if it still exists in Windows 10)

Alternatively, try running it in a virtual machine.

There is a fair bit of information in the thread -> http://forum.makemusic.com/default.aspx?f=5&m=481299

Also look at the links mentioned in the threads.

Cheers...

Daz :o)

Are you running Windows 10 in 32bit or 64bit?

If 64bit, that's the reason. If 32bit, I don't have an answer except that you're going to have to hack something and I don't know what.

The upgrade price is the same, no matter how old your current version is. It's probably time.
