Finale Songwriter 2012 trial crashes on Playback

I just downloaded the free 30-day trial of Finale Songwriter 2012. Each time I push the "play" button on the Playback controls, the entire program crashes. What's going on?

Hi Erin,

Which OS is your Mac running? This sounds a lot like an incompatibility issue we know about between SongWriter 2012 and Mac OS versions 10.10 and newer. Yes, it appears that I fall into the category listed in the article. Does this mean I am unable to use Playback if I continue to use the free trial of Songwriter 2012? But that my system is compatible with Finale 2014.5 or PrintMusic?

You got it right. I'd recommend checking out the 30-day free trial of PrintMusic so that you can get a better feel for how our products should run! Here's a quick link to that trial for you.
