I'm trying to add AAA accordion chord notation. I want to enter the chord type without the root (i.e., M for major), but when I enter and "M", it changes to "F" and "m" changes to "f". It will let me enter "7". What am I doing wrong?

Hello Derrill,

I realize this is an older comment but I thought I would share my experience.  I'm an accordionist and frequently use Finale to do exactly what you're talking about.  Rather than use the Chord Tool, which I find problematic, I use the Expression Tool and create the symbols I need (M, m, 7, d) and enter them over the appropriate chord notes in the left hand as needed.  I have found this to be a very quick and useful way of achieving AAA notation in Finale.

Hopefully this information is helpful to you.

I use the Articulation Tool for AAA notation.
